It was a hard week that I had in AIS, I had a plan that I would went out to relax with my friend in weekend. But I couldn’t because I had a homework from Ms. Heather. It was a difficult homework that I did, I had to do write about Freedom Writer which was the movie that my class was seen . And the words that I had to write from 500-700
“Oh men!It’s too much” I thought
“Why did our class have to do this essay?” I asked to myself.
Then I started to do it:
Freedom Writer was based on a true story which was recorded in 2007. The main character is Erin Gruwell, she is a teacher who came to a school at Long Beach , LA. At the first time she went to the class, she saw the students were late, and they fought each other because of the racism ( because almost there were African American, Cambodian, Chinese, etc in that class). So it made she thought that they didn’t give her any respect.
Day flew by day, there just had one or two students stayed and studied with her , the rest didn’t interesting. She felt disappoint and she was mobilized her father and her husband so she had some experience from them. And then she decided to change the way she taught and it really effective. Do you know how effective did her way make?
When she saw the picture of big lips to make joke at the black people, she tried to explain the history about that picture and express like she stood on that situation. But they didn’t clear about it. So they continue to fight or shot their schoolmates and they didn’t know how dangerous is it. At this time Erin Gruwell gave them went to see the Holocaust Exhibition where told you the information about died people who died because of the war. She wanted they to understand how importance of the life and didn’t waste life even it just 1 sec. She also made a meeting between her students with some guide who were behold everything in the war so her students could got information also the knowledge.
All of work which she did for them was just a part of her plan. She got a lots of jobs to get money for buying books for her students and one of the greatest book was “The Diary Of A Young Girl” was wrote by Anne Frank who also the main character in the diary and she was hid in Miep Gies house before she died.Ms. Gruwell and her students had an idea that they would invited Miep Gies to school to talk more about that story because they really interested with that book.
“The end would be every touched and full of surprise” I thought so and with my opinion this movie would got B+ or A
“Phu!phu!phu!” finally, I could finished my homework but I spent Saturday and Sunday to do it so I couldn’t went out to relax with my friends. How ever I still had few hours for playing game.
